Roxanna & Lorena

Roxanna & Lorena

“National Alliance on Mental Illness Monterey County (NAMI) would like to recognize Lorena Frost and Roxanne Rossiter. Lorena has been active with NAMI for 10 years and Roxanne for 5 years. Both are dedicated volunteers, supporting individuals who live with mental illness as facilitators for the NAMI Peer-to-Peer and NAMI Connections signature programs. From being group participants themselves, they understand how important the support from peers can be, especially during challenging times.”

“When the need for new group facilitators had become critical, both Lorena and Roxanne stepped up to be certified as program leaders. That was four years ago, and they have provided key support for the two groups ever since. ‘Their dedication, care, and compassion for the well-being of others is outstanding’, Justin Alnas, Office Manager. ‘I’m not sure how we would have made it through the pandemic without them. With the increase in isolation impacting mental health, the two programs they facilitate have been more important than ever!”
